Special Congratulations to the following swimmers:

CSNZ Summer Champs

Julian Layton – award for highest FINA points in the breastroke events

Jacques Gichard – HBPB Records in the 100m and 200m Breast

Junior Nationals

Bruin Maunder – HBPB Records in the 50, 100 and 200m Breast

Bobbi Gichard – HBPB Records in the 200 Free and 100 Back, National Record in the 100m Back

 

 

The State Epic Swim 2012 at Lake Taupo 15 and 16 January saw 2 of our club members bring home Gold.

Julian Layton won the New Zealand National Championship Open Water 5km Male 16-17 Age Group, 10th overall male and 13th overall to finish. Julian also competed in the 10km swim placing 2nd in his Age group, and 10th male overall again.

Claudia Layton swam in both the 1km and 2.5km swims placing 1st and 2nd respectively in the 12-13 years age group.

Congratulations to both Julian and Claudia for those fantastic results.

 

We also had 27 swimmers compete at the HPBP Summer Champs in Gisborne over the weekend. Looking forward to getting those results up for you soon.

Greendale Swim Club are holding a car wash to raise funds for Swim Camp this Saturday 5th November from 10am to 3pm at the Duke of Gloucester, Taradale.

Bring your dirty car along to the car park and for $5 per car, or $7 for a 4WD you can drive away all shiny and clean !

 

With our annual Greendale Spring Meet less than 3 weeks away its time to start thinking about getting your entries in. This is the one major event our club runs each year and its really important the whole club gets behind it.

IMPORTANT – 25m and 50m events are open to  non-registered swimmers at this meet. This means that every member of our club whether a Learn to Swim or Squad swimmer is eligible to compete in these events.

Entries can be emailed to Caroline at greendaleswim@xtra.co.nz.

Entry Fees are set at $7 per event and can be paid via internet banking or by posting a cheque.

Last day for Monday & Thursday Improver and Intermediate squads before we break for the holidays is Thursday 6th october.

For Tuesday and Friday Improvers and Juniors the last day will be Friday 7th October.
